Cascade Attachments - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company began as a small machine shop employing just four individuals. Overall sales for that year amounted to about $60,000. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and various parts. During five years of operation, the business had stretched to forty staff and their annual sales volume had increased to $330,000. Now, Cascade is amongst the top worldwide makers in the material handling industry.

Design and manufacturing of the company's very first hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively engage in new business possibilities. Throughout the final sixty years, the trade of material handling has grown into a very complex field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade presently continues to grow as the leader provider of forklift accessories and various associated products. The company feels certain in their capability in order to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding buyer's requirements in the future and remaining aggressive in the global market.

In the 1950's, Cascade began designing, fabricating and promoting hydraulic attachments. Construction was completed in 1956 on a new office in order to accommodate all plant and office operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current headquarters. Following 15 years of business, total staff reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached almost $2,300,000.

The next manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's initial transfer into the international world of the material handling industry as the business recognized interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.

In the year 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services throughout the continental USA to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are made worldwide thanks to lots of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer support centre.

Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and the year 1997 after acquiring 5 corporations, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the worldwide best in forks.
