Carriages and Carriage Parts - Rated by the tine carriage lifting capacity, there are four sizes of hook type fork carriages. The hook type tine carriages have been standardized.
Class I carriages are rated for loads as much as 2000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing utilized for Class I is thirteen inches. Class II carriages are rated for cargo as much as 5,550 lbs. Their carriage bar spacing is sixteen inches. Class III carriages are rated for loads up to 10,000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this particular class is twenty inches. Class IV carriages are rated for cargo up to 15,500 lbs. The carriage bar spacing utilized for this capacity is 25 inches.
The carriages for pin type blades can be different depending on the maker. Pin mounted tines may differ by the amount of offset between the fork eye and the tine. Carriage capacity will be determined by the carriage pin size and by the fork size.
